Almond Butter
Ingredients
- 2 cups raw almonds.
- 1-2 tablespoons oil (e.g., almond oil, coconut oil) – optional.
- A pinch of salt – optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread the almonds evenly on a baking sheet.
- Roast the almonds in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, stirring them halfway through. They should become fragrant but be careful not to let them burn.
- Let the roasted almonds cool for a few minutes.
- Place the almonds in a food processor or high-powered blender.
- Blend the almonds on high speed. Initially, they will turn into a coarse meal, and then eventually, it will start to form a creamy texture. Be patient; this process can take several minutes.
- If the mixture seems too thick or dry, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of oil to help it reach a smoother consistency.
- Add a pinch of salt if desired and blend again to incorporate.
- Taste and adjust the salt or sweetness, if needed.
- Transfer the almond butter to a jar and store it in the refrigerator. Enjoy your homemade almond butter on toast, in smoothies, or as a dip!
