Almond Butter

Ingredients
  • 2 cups raw almonds.
  • 1-2 tablespoons oil (e.g., almond oil, coconut oil) – optional.
  • A pinch of salt – optional
Instructions
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Spread the almonds evenly on a baking sheet.
  • Roast the almonds in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, stirring them halfway through. They should become fragrant but be careful not to let them burn.
  • Let the roasted almonds cool for a few minutes.
  • Place the almonds in a food processor or high-powered blender.
  • Blend the almonds on high speed. Initially, they will turn into a coarse meal, and then eventually, it will start to form a creamy texture. Be patient; this process can take several minutes.
  • If the mixture seems too thick or dry, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of oil to help it reach a smoother consistency.
  • Add a pinch of salt if desired and blend again to incorporate.
  • Taste and adjust the salt or sweetness, if needed.
  • Transfer the almond butter to a jar and store it in the refrigerator. Enjoy your homemade almond butter on toast, in smoothies, or as a dip!
