Plain Almond Milk

Ingredients
  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 4 cups water
  • Sweetener to taste (optional)

Instructions
  • Soak the almonds in water overnight or for at least 12 hours.
  • Drain and rinse the soaked almonds.
  • Combine the soaked almonds and 4 cups of water in a blender.
  • Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  • Strain the mixture using a nut milk bag, cheesecloth, or a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or pitcher.
  • Press or squeeze to extract as much liquid as possible.
  • Sweeten to taste if desired.
  • Store the almond milk in a sealed container in the refrigerator. 
  • Shake well before using.
